Calculator inputs

Our calculators run in your web browser. The figures you enter, such as your salary, deductions or loan amounts, are used only to show your results on your screen. They are not sent to us and we do not store them.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, some information is collected automatically by our hosting provider and by the analytics and advertising services described below. This can include your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, approximate location (such as city or region, derived from your IP address), the pages you view, the website that referred you, the date and time of your visit, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies.

How we use information

  • To run, maintain and secure the Site
  • To reply to your messages and to correction reports
  • To understand how visitors use the Site and improve our calculators and articles
  • To show advertising, which keeps the Site free
  • To measure the results of our own promotion on social media
  • To comply with the law and protect the rights and safety of our users, the public and Digicalcy

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We and the third parties below use cookies and similar technologies to remember settings, measure visits and serve ads. The Site also shows a cookie notice. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you do, the Site will still work, but ads may be less relevant to you.

Third-party services we use

Google Blogger (hosting)

The Site is hosted on Blogger, a Google service. Google processes technical information about visits, comments and contact form messages to provide the service. See the Google Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Site, for example which pages are visited and for how long. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your device, browser, approximate location and pages viewed. We use this information only in aggregate. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Google AdSense (advertising)

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or to other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.
  • Learn more about how Google uses cookies in advertising.

Ads are provided by Google and its partners. We do not control which ads appear, and advertisers have no influence on our calculators or articles.

Meta Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram). It tells Meta that a visit came from a Digicalcy page, so we can measure and improve our posts and ads on Meta's platforms. Meta may combine this with information it already holds about you, under the Meta Privacy Policy. You can control how Meta uses this information for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences (Accounts Centre > Ad preferences).

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information for money. Information is shared only as follows:

  • Service providers: Google (Blogger, Analytics, AdSense) and Meta process information as described above, under their own privacy policies.
  • Legal reasons: to comply with the law, a court order or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Digicalcy, our users or others.
  • Business transfer: if the Site is transferred to a new owner, information may be transferred as part of that transfer, and this policy will continue to apply to it.

Under some US state privacy laws, letting advertising partners use cookies on our Site to show you ads based on your activity on other sites may be treated as "selling" or "sharing" personal information, or as "targeted advertising". You can opt out of this using the links in the Google AdSense and Meta Pixel sections above, or by contacting us.

Your privacy choices and rights

  • Opt out of personalized ads: use Google Ads Settings, www.aboutads.info/choices, or your Meta ad preferences, as described above.
  • Block cookies: use your browser settings or a privacy extension.
  • Request access, correction or deletion: if we hold personal information you gave us (for example a contact form message), you can ask to see it, correct it or delete it by emailing us. To delete a comment, you can delete it yourself from your Blogger profile or ask us to remove it.

Depending on where you live (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut or other US states with privacy laws), you may have rights to know what personal information is collected about you, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or of targeted advertising. To make a request, email us at the address below. We will respond within the time the law requires, and we will not discriminate against you for using these rights. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal. The Site does not currently respond to these signals automatically, because there is no single standard for how websites should respond. You can still opt out of personalized advertising using the links above or by contacting us.

How long we keep information

We keep contact form messages and emails only as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable record of the conversation. Published comments stay on the Site until they are removed. Information collected by Google and Meta is kept according to their own retention policies and settings.

Data security

The Site is served over a secure connection (HTTPS), and we take reasonable steps to protect information sent to us. However, no website or online transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

The Site is designed for visitors in the United States. Digicalcy is operated from India, and our service providers, Google and Meta, process information in the United States and other countries. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Google may ask for your consent to cookies on our behalf, and you have rights under your local data protection law, which you can exercise by contacting us.

Links to other websites

The Site links to other websites, such as government sources, social media and advertisers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. Please read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
